Latest News from GT International Logistics
Meet the 2017 GT Logistics crew – professional in everything we do. Left to right Mariri Pureau, Chelsea Schellingerhout; Barbara Leef; Robert Douglas; Phil Gibbs; Che McCallum; Jeff Welsh ; & Ryan Langheim.
Twelve months have flown by since the last Speedshow at the ASB Showgrounds in Auckland.
As the preferred international forwarder for the event, we once again shipped many of the exotic, rare and expensive classics on display over the 18th to 19th July Show weekend.
And of course GT had our own stand featuring a superbly restored example of a 1970 RT/SE Charger – shipped to NZ from the USA by us some years ago and now a simply stunning car that was admired by many Mopar fans! The Show is always a great venue to catch up with new and existing clients so we’d like everyone the dropped by for a catch-up with the GT staff during the weekend.
GT International Logistics Ltd continues to grow and expand and we are proud to advise that from Monday 12th May we have taken up residence in our own facility located at 29 Andrew Baxter Drive and within 5 minutes of Auckland International Airport.
All inwards import vehicle, general and certain project containers will now be handled ‘in house’ by experienced and fully trained GT staff.
The move to the new location brings with it another ‘first’ as we have purpose built an Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI) standard wash bay. This bay is inside our warehouse and means that any vehicle, bike, or piece of machinery requiring a steam clean and MPI re-inspection can be accomplished by us without recourse to often expensive off-site trucking and treatment elsewhere.
We’d like to thank our many loyal clients for their continued support over the last almost five years. It has enabled us to grow exponentially and we now look forward to providing them and new customers with an even greater level of service at cost competitive levels.
November saw GT International Logistics partner with Radio Hauraki at this year’s Big Boys Toys extravaganza where we once again rolled out the SLR McLaren Sterling Moss and Enzo Ferrari supercars for display on a combined stand. With over 35,000 people through the Show, the multi-million dollar valued cars drew huge admiring audiences and left no one in doubt which specialist international automotive forwarder will take good care when shipping their own pride and joy! We will no doubt repeat our appearance at the Big Boy’s Toys and Speedshow exhibitions next year though with a different line up of cars. Watch this space!
GT have again been favoured with handling the total import logistics for the New Zealand round of the Asia Pacific Rally Championship series held in Whangerei. Multiple sea freight containers and air consignments of rally cars, spares, tyres and wheels went through our depot in the last week and turned us into ‘Rally Central’ HQ with some of the overseas teams being on hand to assist with the unpacking and MPI inspections prior to everything being delivered North. At the conclusion of the event, GT will oversee the re-export of some of the containers to Australia whilst others head to New Caledonia for the next round of the APRC championship there.
The Australian Department of Infrastructure & Transport (DIT) have ‘modernised’ the application process for import permits and applicants can now apply online. The bonus here is that if there are any problems they will get instant notification. Full details of the proposed changes from the 1st May 2013 are contained in this document. Access to the Infrastructure site and online application is: www.infrastructure.gov.au
